WHAT KIND OF PHOTOGRAPHER ARE YOU?

My work has been described as organic, natural, and soulful with a fine art quality. I combine traditional and documentary newborn photography along with family portraiture to capture genuine images for you to treasure for a lifetime. Imagine your family as fine art.

As your photographer, I will provide a generous gallery of images that can be displayed in your home as pieces of art or archived in a custom album to be treasured for generations. These photographs will be an investment in your family history. Images from your session often tell a story, capturing a treasured moment in time. I do not try to make you look perfect, stiff, or unnatural. I am not after that "one" shot with everyone looking at the camera and smiling. Sure, we may get some with everyone looking and smiling, but I promise if we do, it will be because it happened naturally, not because it was forced.

WHERE WILL MY SESSION BE HELD?

I am a natural light, on location photographer.  Together we will choose the perfect location.
Outdoor sessions start about an hour before sunset. This will change throughout the year, so start time depends on the date of your session.
Newborn sessions are held at your home.

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY MATERNITY SESSION?

As soon as you know you are pregnant, feel free to contact me to secure your date (the earlier the better!). The best time for a maternity session is between 28 to 34 weeks (depending on how you look and feel). I can capture your beautiful bump in the comfort of your own home or at a location of your choice. Siblings, husbands, partners are welcome too! I promise to capture you in a way that will accentuate your own beauty and fully illustrate just how glowing and radiant you are. Just smile, mama – you got this!

      WHEN DO NEWBORN SESSIONS OCCUR?

I like to do newborn sessions within the first two weeks of baby’s life. It’s never too late for a baby session though; they grow so fast, let’s make sure to capture them as they are now!

      WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Once you have booked your session, I send you a preparation guide where you will find lots of information on how to prepare and what to wear.

WE ARE AWKWARD IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA. IS THAT OK?

Absolutely! 99% of people I photograph say they are awkward having their photo taken, even the ones that look super cool and natural in my portfolio. I promise, my job is to make you feel comfortable and draw out your genuine selves. So don’t worry, you don’t need to be a model. Just remember how much you love each other and the magic will happen!

WHEN WILL I SEE MY IMAGES AFTER THE PHOTOSHOOT?

We will schedule a viewing and ordering appointment roughly 1 to 2 weeks after your session. This is when you will view, choose and order your images.

I look at each and every image I capture at your session and hand select the best. I am looking for images that represent me as an artist and your family, as each is unique. I guarantee minimum of 40 images, but there are usually many more for you to choose from. Lucky you!

HOW FAR OUT ARE YOU BOOKED?

I typically book one to three months in advance. If you are interested in newborn portraits, please inquire while you are pregnant. Birth sessions and Fresh48s need to be booked in as far advance as possible, as I make sure my schedule is clear around your due date. Already delivered? No problem. I try to leave openings in my schedule for last minute newborn sessions. They are usually booked on weekdays.

If you end up needing a session last minute, send me a message and I can see what I have available!
